(glad to see our local graffiti faction is takin’ care of business…)

with dazed purveyors of bland and listless coffee already hugging the perimeter (the grind at one end of town, corporate show pony starbucks at the other), what on earth could nyc-area barista-lords-in-training esparks coffee want with greenpoint avenue??

our visit to the woodside branch of the bootleg caffeine hut revealed weak brews, spotless countertops, and fucking wireless internet. where’s the fun in that?! we want the undeniably intoxicating aroma of kick-you-on-your-ass house blend, flaky morning-made pastries wallowing in pools of their own melted butter within a single smudgy display case, families of every age and ethnicity busting ass nobly behind a single sliver of counter, and shoulder-to-shoulder digs with just barely enough elbow room to raise your steaming cup. these are some of the qualities that make a coffee shop epic, and establish it as a mainstay amidst the local flavor of blue-collar queens.

take note, esparks, you’ve got a lot of catching up to do… and a lot of typos to fix. (and if it ever comes down to a grudge match, i’m fully confident el buen sabor, chipichape, and el triangulo could steamroll your french-roasted, wi-fi-trolling ass out of this borough with the quickness.)
